Born in North Devon, I joined the Devon & Cornwall Constabulary Police Cadets in 1972 before joining the regular constabulary in 1975. I worked all over the force area in different roles, witnessing many changes including becoming a force IT trainer during the role out of the very first force-wide IT systems in the early to mid 90s. I retired in 2005 knowing there was an excellent historical collection still present at headquarters, and have now become involved in one of my passions in helping to preserve this collection. I have always been a member of the Friends group and now with the Museum assisting with mainly IT, social media and other digital matters.
