Women in Policing exhibition, Tavistock, August 2024 – EXTENDED!

Since opening the Mini-Museum in Tavistock, the Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall (MOPIDAC) has gone from strength-to-strength and is well supported by the public.

MOPIDAC is pleased to announce a new exhibition, kindly hosted by Tavistock Guildhall Heritage Centre, within the Robing Room, which opened on 13th August and has now been EXTENDED to September 21st 2024.

Women in Policing tracks the development of the police service’s inclusivity of women, using some personal stories of those involved. From Matrons to Chief Constables, pioneering people breaking down barriers and silencing the sceptics.

On display are examples of women’s police uniform from across the decades, and police equipment used in the course of duty.

Tavistock Guildhall Heritage Centre is open Monday to Saturday 10am until 4pm.

The Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall is open in Tavistock on Fridays 11am until 3pm, with some Saturday openings, check website for details.

Entry to both venues is free of charge.
